Great time in Giessen, Germany

I had a truly wonderful time last week participating as an invited speaker tot the 12th Annual Retreat of the International Graduate Program in Molecular Biology and Medicine of the Lung.  This program is sponsored by the Universities of Giessen and Marburg, http://www.uni-giessen.de/cms/fbz/fb11/forschung/graduierte/mbml/faculty and is directed by Dr. Rory Morty, our very capable Associate Editor.  The scientific program and social activities were absolutely fantastic.  The invited speakers included two Nobel laureates (Professors Robert Huber and Harald Zur Hausen), Sir Magdi Yacoub, His Eminence Cardinal Willem Jacobus Eijk, Archbishop of Utrecht, The Netherlands and many others.  The student presentations were splendid.  Dr. Morty invites two graduate students every year to participate in the retreat.  According to inside information, publishing in AJP-Lung, and other journals of course, is looked upon favorably!!  If you are a graduate student in biomedical science, next time you are in a scientific meeting, look up Dr. Morty (Associate Editor for AJP-Lung), introduce yourself and let him know what you are doing.
