New feature: Rapid Reports (faster than a speeding bullet)!

We are very pleased to announce a new category of articles to be published in AJP:Lung: Rapid Reports (or speeding bullet).  This publication is meant for authors  wishing to communicate new findings which could potentially have a major impact on the field. The manuscript does not need to tell a complete story, but must be compelling, innovative and novel. The manuscript may contain 4000 to 5000 words and up to 4 figures and/or tables. A decision (accept, reject or minor revisions) will be reached within approximately 10 days from receipt of the manuscript by the Editor. If encouraged to revise, authors will be asked to submit first revisions 14 days after first decision. A final decision on first revisions will be rendered by the editors within approximately 5 days of resubmission.

The American Physiological Society is very pleased to announce that they are sponsoring a booth in the upcoming International Meeting of the American Thoracic Society in San Diego California.  The booth number is 4227 and will be located in the Exhibit Hall. Ms. Tayiel from the APS circulations department will be present from Sunday May 18th to May 21st.  Please come by to meet the Editor and the Associate Editors of the American Journal of Physiology-Lung Cellular and Molecular Physiology and discuss all issues pertaining to publishing.  Please see below for the times that they will be present.  Last year we had some lively discussions and had the opportunity to meet many of our contributors and editorial board members.  We are also giving away some very nice gifts.

We are looking forward to seeing you there.
